Forgiven

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with [his] finger wrote on the ground, [as though he heard them not]. John 8:3-11 {KJV}

 Have you ever made a huge mistake, or done something, that others just can't seem to forget or let you forget? Perhaps it's something that, given the perfect opportunity,someone or something will cause that memory of your mistake to rear its ugly head.Maybe even a person or persons remind you of it every chance they get, even go so far as to let other folks know, just to keep it there, out in the open, for your reproof.

That, my friend, is just how Satan operates. He wants to hang our sins over our heads, dangling it right there in front of your face, as a constant reminder of every mistake. Every chance he gets, and seemingly at just the precise moment, when we are rising above it, he jabs us with a reminder. "You can't do that!! You SINNED!! God doesn't want you... You’re not worthy!! Look what you did!! If other people knew...." on and on he rants.

Just as the woman brought before Jesus, with her sins, out there in the open, for everyone to hear, talk about, gawk at, disapprove of, show reproof, while her accusers, quizzed Jesus, on his knowledge of the law. So does Satan, do the same to us, either by tormenting your mind, or he sends his accusations through others, to make you stand there, before God and everyone else, chastised and shamed. But what did Jesus do? He bent and wrote in the sand, as the onlookers, and accusers waited for the word, before stoning her to death. As they stood there, with their stones and words of accusation to throw, Jesus simply said, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." I can only imagine, the sight as those with stones, begin to let them drop, one by one, while their hearts burned within them, for they realized he knew their transgressions, even the very things they had hidden. After all had gone, Jesus asked,“ Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?” , to which she replied, “ No man, Lord” Then, with a look of love and compassion, like nothing she'd ever witnessed, Jesus said, ".Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”John 8:3-11 {KJV}

Just as Jesus, did so should we towards our brothers and sisters. All too often, we are quick to judge one another, according to their works. In John 8:15{KJV} Jesus said “Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.”

I am so glad that God is a merciful and just God, quick to forgive. He loves us so much that he came to save us. Even though we didn’t deserve to be saved, through the shedding of his blood, can we have remission of our sins. We have been bought and paid with a price. We can therefore suffer no condemnation. I am so grateful, and can never be thankful enough!! Just like the song says, “He is jealous for me. Loves like a hurricane...”

Oh how he loves us so!!! We have been set free! Free from condemnation, free from the chains of sin, that Satan wants to wrap us up with, to suffocate the very essence of life out of our souls, with guilt and shame.

Apostle Paul said” For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which [was bestowed] upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." 1 Cornithians 15:9-10 {KJV}

We have ALL sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but his grace is sufficient. [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2 {KJV}

My friend, you don’t have to let Satan bind you up with the weight of sin. We have been FORGIVEN! You are loved and cherished by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! He is the most high, and we are called according to his purpose. Let no man stand in the way of sinners. For we all have the same Father who loves us, and like the prodigal son, he welcomes us with open arms, and much rejoicing. Won’t you let him in today? He’s calling.. Can’t you hear him? As David Huff sings, “ Here’s my heart, here’s my soul, here’s something only you can own..” Let him in today, he stands at the door and knocks.
